J.J. Ruscella is an expert in immersive experience design and widely known for bringing people together to shape the future of learning and storytelling. With over 25 years at the intersection of simulation, entertainment and technology, his work champions collaboration as the catalyst for innovation.

Holding an MFA from Rutgers University, Ruscella has launched pioneering academic programs at the University of Central Florida and Shenandoah University, including the first Interactive Virtual Fine Arts degree in the U.S. and a cutting-edge VR/AR design program. As founding Executive Director of the Shenandoah Center for Immersive Learning (SCiL), he led initiatives recognized with the H. Hiter Harris III Award for Excellence in Instructional Technology and the Shenandoah Valley Technology Council’s Innovation in Higher Education award.

Recognized as a thought leader by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Government officials, leading multiple brain trusts and symposiums for the advancement of adoption and integration of immersive technology on a national scale. His IEEE-published immersive design taxonomy has influenced national training models, including those of the U.S. Air Force University. From the StoryBox stage at Lincoln Center to award-winning films, Ruscella continues to explore how shared creative vision can transform the world.
